MEMS proof of concept

Benefit from our expertise, built during our more than 40 years of cooperation with Philips Research.

Your benefit

Your ideas for a custom MEMS device are evaluated by testing of experimental designs, confirming or rejecting assumptions in terms of functionality, performance or cost. You benefit from our expertise, built from working with Philips Research for more than 40 years.

We deliver

We conduct complete ‘proof of concept’ experiments. We develop an integrated process flow and create a custom MEMS device concept according to your design inputs. Also a risk assessment of the next development phase is made.

Our approach

We work in close consultation and report on progress and results. We are flexible in using a very wide variety of materials (metals, dielectrics, polymers), substrates (semiconductor, glass, ceramic; square & round, up to 8”) and over 100 state-of-the-art tools.

  • Project management
  • Quality systems ISO 9001, 13485
  • DfX, design for excellence

MEMS proof of concept in the spotlight

Canon Production Printing – For the next generation in the printing process we are developing a fluidic MEMS device.

Elesta – Our main innovation challenges were the following: how to improve reliability, accuracy and sensitivity of the encoder.

When your current solution just doesn’t seem to do the trick, custom MEMS devices might be worthwhile investigating. How feasible would a custom MEMS device be for you?

When you need a custom MEMS device for your system, you can rely on our experts. Their expertise is to really understand your requirements, to show feasibility and proof of concept, develop the product and required process in a stage-gated manner and reproduce reliably & controlled.

We have over 30 years of experience in prototyping & assembly in our Micro Devices Facility called ‘Greenhouse’. Therefore, integral coupling with supply chain and manufacturing activities is assured.
