Ways to achieve Sustainable Development Goals: SDG Partnerships

Philips Engineering Solutions kicks off its services on SDG partnerships for the Sustainable Development Goals

In the last quarter of 2017 we kicked-off our stakeholder engagement services by organizing a seminar on partnerships for the sustainable development goals (SDGs). During this well visited seminar, a broad range of companies discussed challenges around developing SDG partnerships.

Examples of questions handled during this seminar are:

  • Why are partnerships effective in tackling the SDGs?
  • What are effective approaches for creating partnerships?
  • And how can your organization leverage partnerships to create new business?

Based on their own practical experience within Philips, the sustainability team of Philips Engineering Solutions provided knowledge and tools that could help solve these challenges.

During the seminar Julia Huss of AkzoNobel and Ties Kroezen of Royal Philips presented their unique approaches. This was followed by a panel discussion with experts from both Philips and AkzoNobel.

Sustainable Development Goals follow-up workshop

Several participants of the seminar indicated their interest in a follow-up workshop on the Sustainable Development Goals topic. That’s why, in the second quarter of this year a SDG workshop will be organized, in which a maximum of 8 participating companies will have the opportunity to learn more on tools that can be used for creating a partnership strategy and selecting the right organizations to partner with.

SDG partnerships & stakeholder engagement services

The consultants from Environment & Safety team are able to support companies on various forms of stakeholder engagement. From a light form of stakeholder engagement such as conducting a materiality analysis amongst stakeholders, to more intensive engagement such as developing a partnership strategy in line with your ambitions.

Facilitation and organization of stakeholder dialogues and co-creation SDG workshops with a broad range of externals is something we regularly support and facilitate in as well.
